Vanessa Bryant, the widow of five-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant, took to social media on Sunday to address rumors that she was pregnant with her fifth child.
The 43-year-old dismissed the online rumors in a post on her Instagram Stories, using a popular Rihanna meme that shows the singer holding a drink and extending the middle finger while wearing a snorkel and taking a dip in the water.
“Me protecting my peace, not pregnant & having fun all summer,” Vanessa captioned, Us Weekly reported. She also followed that up with another post from an Instagram page that shares self-development and motivational content.
“The only way to impress me, is by being a good person,” the post stated. “I don’t care what you have, what you wear, where you live, or what you drive. I just have deep respect for people with pure hearts and good intentions.”
In her third story, Vanessa shared another Rihanna meme with the caption, “I’m not mean, I’m just not the one.”

Vanessa and Kobe share four daughters; Natalia, Gianna, Bianka, and Capri. The pair tied the knot in 2001 and remained married until Kobe and their daughter Gianna’s tragic deaths in 2020.
On January 26, 2020, Kobe, 41, was on board the Sikorsky S-76B with Gianna,13, alongside seven others, when the helicopter suddenly banked and plunged into the hills in southern California, Face2Face Africa reported at the time. There were no survivors.
Vanessa has been very open about the family’s grief with regard to the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of her beloved husband and their daughter.
“My husband worked his ass off for 20 years. Gave it his all. All he wanted was to spend time with our girls and me to make up for lost time. He wanted to be there for every single milestone and special moment in our girls lives. He only got to enjoy 3 years and 9 months of retirement,” she wrote in an April 2020 tribute on Instagram.
“We had 2 more daughters, he won an Oscar, he opened Granity studios, he became a 5x bestselling author and coached Gianna’s basketball team in that time. She worked hard and gave her all 7 days a week just like her daddy. I wish I could go back to that morning, every day. I wish they had a normal local game on 1/26. Life truly isn’t fair. This is just senseless.”
