Beyoncé’s fans were overjoyed on night four of her Cowboy Carter Tour at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, as the multiple Grammy winner went out of her way to help them.
The 43-year-old noticed a special request while looking at other supporters’ signs in the audience. She read the fan’s sign into her microphone and remarked, “First born, Carter.” “Gender reveal. Right now?” Then, before leaving the stage in a video that was captured by fans, she declared, “I’ll be back.”

Keeping her promise, Beyoncé switched from her all-red leather ensemble to an all-black jumpsuit with flared bottoms inspired by the American flag. Before reaching for and unwrapping the couple’s envelope, the mother of three said, “I’mma take my time.” Then, the camera focused on the sheet of paper that the singer was carrying, which had the words “COWBOY” written in blue and black.
“It’s a boy! God bless you. Congratulations,” she said as the audience applauded. “Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it.”
Several videos of the moment, including one from her mother, Tina Knowles, were posted across social media.
“Wow!!!! Who takes the time and does a gender reveal when they are wet and cold? I was like Girlllllll you gonna get sick,” Tina, 71, captioned the clip recorded by a fan.
People reports that Beyoncé had previously helped with a gender reveal while on tour. Beyoncé stopped her Renaissance World Tour performance in July 2023 at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne, Germany, to highlight a fan’s sign requesting Bey’s assistance with their gender reveal.
“I wanna do this right, because, since the beginning of the show, I’ve seen this sign that says: ‘Do my gender reveal,’ ” she said at the time. “I just want to do it right! Do I have to open the envelope?”
“Can somebody hand me the envelope, please?” Beyoncé requested. Then, she spoke the word “girl” into the microphone, mimicking the tone of her 2011 hit song “Run the World (Girls).”
“Congratulations! Congratulations, beautiful!” she said. “God bless you!”
Meanwhile, according to Bloomberg, Beyoncé’s May 15, May 17, and May 18 concert in Chicago helped push hotel reservations to a new high, surpassing the previous record established when Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami performed in the third-largest US city.
Chicago’s tourist organization, Choose Chicago, reports that the Saturday of the concert saw the highest number of hotel reservations ever for a single day, with 46,450 rooms booked. Additionally, visitors were in town for the National Restaurant Association Show, which typically draws over 50,000 people.
It said, “The new record is good news for Chicago, which had been struggling to lure tourists back. While the number of visitors rose 6.5% last year to 55.3 million, it still remains below pre-pandemic levels. The city received 61 million tourists in 2019.”
