Maxwell Anderson, the Milwaukee man accused of killing and dismembering 19-year-old Sade Robinson when they met for their first date, is facing a mandatory life sentence after a jury found him guilty of the college student’s murder.
Per The Associated Press, the jury’s verdict came after authorities in April 2024 brought charges against Anderson over Robinson’s killing. The jury found him guilty of first-degree intentional homicide, dismembering a corpse, arson, and hiding a corpse.
Anderson and Robinson went on their first date on April 1, 2024, and authorities claim that was the same day the convicted man killed her. He is said to have also dismembered the victim’s body before scattering her parts in the Milwaukee County area. Authorities also claim that he tried to conceal evidence by setting the deceased victim’s car on fire.

During the closing arguments on June 5, Assistant District Attorney Ian Vance-Curzan told the court that a week before she went missing, Anderson and Robinson had spent time at a bar. The pair returned to Anderson’s apartment after they had drinks at two bars on April 1, 2024, surveillance video and cellphone text indicated.

Anderson was also linked to Robinson’s killing through photos retrieved from his phone. The images showed Robinson lying on Anderson’s couch with her face down and the suspect groping her. Vance-Curzan said Robinson was unable to stop Anderson’s actions as she was incapacitated at the time, The Associated Press reported.
The morning after their first date, surveillance video also captured Robinson’s car moving from Anderson’s apartment before stopping at a county park. Anderson is said to have then dismembered Robinson’s body at that location. Before later boarding a bus to return to his apartment, Vance-Curzan said that Anderson set Robinson’s car on fire.
Anderson’s sentencing date has been set for August 15.
